What’s good fam? I haven’t written a full post in quite a while even though I have sent out the newsletter to let you know about upcoming events and such. So in the spirit of all things DnB Jacksonville, here’s a little recap of what’s happened and what’s coming up.
Big June Event – Quadrant & Iris
First of all and perhaps most important, you DO NOT want to miss our event on 20 June with two U.S. DnB staples, Quadrant + Iris! We have been working on this booking for a few months now. Not only has this been a wish list booking of mine for many years, we’re celebrating mine and Rashelle’s recent wedding and doing it in style! They are both some of our favorite artists, and I have played their tunes in more sets than I can remember.

Both together, individually, and collaboratively with other producers, Quadrant and Iris have music released on Hospital Records, Metalheadz, C.I.A., Commercial Suicide, Dispatch Recordings, Fokuz Recordings, Sofa Sound, and so many others. These two are serious production powerhouses with the DJ chops to match. Currently living in Seattle, these two are the cream of the crop and are some of the best that U.S. DnB has to offer. Would you believe this will be their first time performing in Florida? Yeah I was just as stunned when I asked them and that’s what they told me. But, I’ve really enjoyed the opportunities I’ve had to give some artists their first Florida or Jacksonville DnB gig.

Support artists and more
It’s always a challenge to curate a supporting lineup that both compliments the event and adds variety. This time around was no different! We managed to lock in the amazing talents of DJ Kaizen from the Tampa Bay/Port Richey area to perform a closing set and keep the vibes rolling late into the night. She has amassed loads of experience behind the decks, starting in North Carolina and then moving to Florida a few years ago. She runs a regular Twitch streaming show 1-2 times a week where she incorporates live sampling and sequencing into her DnB mix. It’s really something special and takes a lot of work and dedication.
Of course we had to include some of the JaxDnB homies, too. Nathan Bradley, Brian Bellas, and D Rock will be joining me on the support lineup for this incredible night. We’re also inviting a bunch of art vendors and live painters to enhance the visual senses even further. Shannon Wirth with her current art collection and all sorts of glowy things, Mental_Motions will be on site for some tarot, Byron Brown and the Phukheadz, and the latest addition Third Day Collective will have an assortment of hemp products available. Painters will include Croz Arts, Andrew Escudero, and another newcomer to JaxDnB events Cosmic Berry. Speaking of glowing, Rashelle has been making a bunch of UV reactive decor for this special occasion and we’re adding extra black lights to brighten up the mood!
Get hyped up with a Quadrant + Iris mix set, this one from a performance at SD Union…
Other events on the calendar
Jazz Fest After Dark Popup – 23 May
Friday 23 May we are privileged to take part in Jazz Fest After Dark: a sponsored series of events taking place at several venues throughout downtown Jacksonville. We will be popping up inside The Circuit Arcade Bar from 10pm until 1am. PR!NTS, Chopper, and Reflections will bring a mix of liquid DnB, jungle, UKG, phonk, deep dub, halftime, and other funky rhythms.

This is our first event at this new venue (well, the space is a long time favorite spot, just with a new name and format.) Originally a live music venue, then converted into a mixed-used tequila bar, now in it’s third iteration as an arcade bar featuring an assortment of new and retro arcade games, plus a full bar and a unique n/a menu. Ocean Street Tacos is still next door, and there will be live bands playing on the back patio. Entry is free, and The Circuit is open every day 12p-1a.
Terrace Takeover at Myth – 06 June
We are still going strong with first Fridays at Myth. Would you believe it’s been almost three years? We’re not quite there yet but it is just around the corner. In the meantime, Friday 06 June is the day after my birthday so you know we’re going to have some fun. This time around our friend Chopper gets to headline the terrace, and supporting will be MekanizedSource and XMSN, and I might get on the decks too for a bit 🙂 . As usual, the venue graciously provides us with a guest list and there is a signup to get on it.

Looking forward into July and August
The Terrace Takeover at Myth will roll on and even though we haven’t confirmed lineups you can count on Friday 04 July (that’s right, downtown will be hopping) and Friday 01 August. Also, that three-year anniversary will hit in September.
I don’t have anything else on the calendar for July at the moment. I decided to space things out a bit more going forward, for a few reasons, and the result is that each of our events should be that much more special. I can tell you that in August I have another U.S. duo headliner locked in; that announcement will be coming on or around July 01.
What we missed since our last update
We had a pretty good run to start off the year. MTpockets in January was a mad house and his set went off like nobody’s business. Random Movement came in February and rolled out hard. Then in March we had a headliner scheduled who unfortunately fell ill the week of the event, so our friend MekanizedSource got moved from direct support to headliner for that night. Finally in May, we got to introduce you to Nave, a hidden U.K. talent now living in Orlando.

That momentum was carried from the end of last year. September we brought an up-and-coming young duo from the Space Coast, Bambiino and Digital Daze. In October, we welcomed Stereotype from Miami for his first ever Jacksonville event. Then in November we featured PR!NTS for a headlining event, followed by a Sunday show later that month with DJ Suv on tour.
On the Myth Nightclub terrace, we hosted a lot of new faces from Jacksonville and beyond. Vixen Stylee, G Frequency and Nome MC, Greensky, PRODUKDo, Arkitecta, Thai Jesus, MzB, Village Warrior, Jeremi J., Xander, Phatboi, and Nixxie all came to drop their first Myth takeover sets.
I have been video recording most of the sets at Myth, and some of the other events. Go to our YouTube channel to get caught up. I still have more in cache I need to upload, so be sure you Subscribe to get notified about new uploads.

New merch, who dis?
I’ve been mentioning it for too long now. After intense deliberation and doing a test production, we now have some hats in the merch store! Three different ball cap styles in various colorways are available for order; production time and shipping may take up to two weeks due to these being made on-demand. However, economy ground shipping is included in the price. Grab yours today, just in time for that glaring hot Florida summer.

Well that’s a wrap for now. I hope to see all of your bright smiling faces at an event soon!
